Prairie Jewish Youth (PJY) was created by the Prairie Jewish Coalition in 2013.
Our goal is to bring together Jewish youth, 5th grade through high school, from the greater Illinois Fox Valley area by providing Jewish activities on a monthly basis. We are volunteers from Aurora, Geneva, St. Charles, South Elgin, Elgin, Bartlett, McHenry, Lake in the Hills and more. Some of our participants are members of the following: Chabad in Elgin Congregation Beth Shalom in DeKalb Congregation Kneseth Israel in Elgin Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors in Geneva McHenry County Jewish Congregation in McHenry Pushing the Envelope Farm in Geneva Temple B'nai Israel in Aurora. Some participants do not belong to any Jewish organization. All Jewish children/teens are welcome. No affiliation is necessary. Our activities range from purely social, to social action, to religious. If you are interested in making a social impact or strengthening your Jewish identity or just having fun with other Jewish Youths, please join us at our next activity! And see our list of past activities! |
